When I use the curser to select a single cell, multiple cells are selected.
If I tab, the highlight stays within the selected cells. When I use the
arrow keys a single cell selection accures and things work okay. This
appears to be only in this worrkbook where the problem accurs on multiple
sheets though not on all sheets. I am using MS Excel 2007

Hi,

In Excel 2003 I'd tap F8 to cure that but Microsoft have probably changed
that because they can!!

Try setting the Zoom level a little lower.

The multiple cell selection is a bug in Excel 2007.

The zoom-changing appears to fix it.

I don't have 2007 but a few postings have made the suggestion and it seems
to work.

Here is one such posting.

I tried F8 but that added more cells to the selection really confusing me.
And they won't give me Excel 2003 back. One step forward two steps back!
Sort of like the state of the economy;-)

Thanks for the suggestion of changing the zoom. It worked for me. I have
also found that if you minimize the spreadsheet and work on it stretched out
to full size but still minimized that works as well. Crazy annoying glitch!

Thanks again! This was very helpful.

Same exact thing was happening to me. Multiple cells were being selected,
while I only clicked on one. I changed the zoom to 90% and then back to 100%
and the bug was fixed!
