XL2000 - Data Validation Lists
Using Excel 2000, is there a maximum number of characters which can be
entered for each list item. In other words, what is the maximum width of each data item used in a validation list? Also, aside from the number of rows in a worksheet, is there a maximum number of items you can include in one list? Could a validation list have 65,536 items in it? I have looked in Debra D.'s instructions on "Contextures" but could not find a specific reference to width or number of items limtiations. All help is greatly appreciated. -- LPS |
XL2000 - Data Validation Lists
From my own testing...
I was able to create a list with 32767 different items in the list(using range of cells). Was not able to max out character limit per line, but do note that the drop down box does not have a horizontal scroll, so your visible viewing area is limited. -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "LPS" wrote: Using Excel 2000, is there a maximum number of characters which can be entered for each list item.
