what is this formula means =+$R$16

What is the $ sign do to my formula

Pete_UK

what is this formula means =+$R$16

It anchors the row and column references, so that if you were to copy
that formula to any other cell it would still be:

=+$R$16

It is known as absolute referencing (check in XL Help for more
details).

Incidentally, you don't need the + sign in the formula.

Hope this helps.
