Cant get column to format
Hi all. Need your expertise as I am pulling my hair out. I am exporting
information into an excel sheet but it will not allow me to change the date value that comes over so I can sort the information. I have tried formatting, copying and paste special with values only, paste special with multiplying by one from a cell that was formatted as number and nothing. I looked for any conditional formatting and to no avail. I can not export the information any other way than copying and pasting. I am using Excel 2003. Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks a bunch |

The problem is that the date is actually a Text value. Say the value is in
A1, in B1 enter: =datevalue(A1) and copy down You can format the new column to any date format you like. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200820 "Corkey" wrote: the date value comes over as 18ˆ’Novˆ’2008 "Gary''s Student" wrote: What does a single value look like? -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200820 "Corkey" wrote: Hi all. I am not sure if this will work or not. Try highlighting the cells you want
to change the format and do a Text to Columns and specify that you want the cells to be date formatted. "Corkey" wrote in message ... Hi all. Need your expertise as I am pulling my hair out.
