It's not a certainty that you are trying to add 5% of 12000 to 12000, but if
that is what you are trying to do, try =(6000+6000)*1.05

With 6000 in A1, question is whether the 5% pertains to the 6000 or the
12000.

Either one of these should work:

=A1*2.05
OR
=(A1*2)*1.05
