add time formula
 

I am trying to add these times and it keeps giving me 23:55 for total hours.
i know this is wrong can some one help me?
column a column b column c
7:30 PM 9:30 PM 2:00
8:45 PM 5:30 AM 8:45
8:15 PM 1:10 AM 4:55
8:15 PM 2:00 AM 5:45
8:15 PM 2:00 AM 5:45
8:15 PM 4:30 AM 8:15
8:15 PM 2:00 AM 5:45

23:55
this is the formula that i used
=SUM(C1:C8)

add time formula
 

use custom format [hh]:mm

I get 17:10 not 23:55. If it is summing and cycling around the 24 value then
the other answer applies, if it is not adding up correctly there is some
other problem.
