I can't enter an array in Excel 2007

I am trying to enter an array formula, but am unable to do so. I have tried
pressing Ctrl+shift+enter and have ensured that the cell is in edit mode.
But, no curly brackets or array have I. The cursor remains where it is and
the formula is not entered. Any ideas why?

Thanks

Is the cell formatted as Text by any chance? What about workbook
calculations... are they set to Automatic? You can check this last one out
by clicking the Office button (the round icon in the upper left corner of
Excel's window), then clicking the Excel Options button on the dialog that
appears, then selecting Formulas in the left hand panel on the new dialog
box that appears... the Calculations Options are in the right hand panel, at
the top.

Hi,

What exactly is the formula? And what results does it return?

Calculation mode does not make any difference to the entry of array
formulas, the {}'s still appear on the outside, in Manual mode.

If this helps, please click the Yes button
