look up formula

Hi there I have a 2 sheets that i want to use.

The first sheet is a list of subject codes, names and prices etc;
MA081 Mathematical Methods $10.00
MA093 Specialist Maths $10.00
MATH1 Maths $10.00
MATH2 Maths $10.00

I want the second sheet to look at the first sheet and where the subject
codes match, display the name in one colum and the $ in second colum. My
currect formula is

=LOOKUP(E:E,'Fees '!A:A,'Fees '!B:B)

But the resluts are not right, in that for code MATH1 it is displaying the
MA093 results.

Please help!

Schreeno

You'll need 2 lookups - 1 for subject name the other for $amount.

Try the following for subject name:

=vlookup("subject code from sheet2" , Sheet!A1:C3 , 2 , false)

and replace 2 above with 3 to get amount (based on the format ou gave in
your question)/
