Import External data from a Website
The web table that I want to import is divided into a number of pages (1-12)
but only the first page is selectable (yellow arrow) in the 'New Web Query' window. I have tried setting up p2 in my browser, and then opening New Web Query, but the URL relates to the first page, and I cannot move New Web query to the second or subsequent pages. Is there a way to import the subsequent pages? Thanks. Mike |

Probably. Give the url and describe the pages you want and/or the steps you take to get there. Often you can record a macro while fetching and then modify the url to get the other pages.?? This is the sort of thing I often do for clients. -- Don Guillett Microsoft MVP Excel SalesAid Software "MichaelRobert" wrote in message ... Import External data from a Website
Hi,
I'm not sure what the problem is, when I do a new web query and arrive on a web page, I can easily navigate to another page or type in the URL in the Address line and Excel brings that page in. Maybe by page you don't mean a separate web page? Thanks, Shane Devenshire "MichaelRobert" wrote: The web table that I want to import is divided into a number of pages (1-12) but only the first page is selectable (yellow arrow) in the 'New Web Query' window. Thanks, Don. I'll contact them.
Have you been successful in the past in importing the full table when it is presented in multiple sheets like this? I'd like to know if I am dealing with a site-specific problem or a general problem with this type of data presentation. Mike "Don Guillett" wrote: Probably. Generally speaking, IF you can get a different url when you change the page on line you can build a looping macro to get each page and extract data as desired. I often do this for clients using external queries. -- Don Guillett Microsoft MVP Excel SalesAid Software "MichaelRobert" wrote in message ... Thanks, Don. I'll contact them.
