SumIf - when I fill down the Range, Criteria & sum range changes
 

I would like to fill down & keep the same range & sum range - but let the
criterial advance by 1 - field in the next file. Is this possible?

Also, will excel keep the info (function) straight as I sort the file?

Add a $ to Col Letter and/or Row Number if you do NOT want it to change...
All other references (which are without a $ will change)
--------------
=$A$1 change neither row nor column
=A1 change both row and column
=$A1 change row but not column
=A$1 change column but not row
