Need to know formula to make expire in a year.
 

I was asked if I could create a spreadsheet where we could keep track of
vendors and when they took the safety training for our company. The training
is only good for one year. So I would have a date field. Then I was asked
if I could make it so a year from now the text would change color or
something, to let them know that the safety training had expired. Is there
some sort of formula or function that I could use for this?

=AND(A1<"",A1<TODAY()-365)
Pick a colour
OK

use format painter to paint this into the other cells

One last question, I think...what is format painter? I'm using Excel 2003.
I don't see that in any of my menus.

Sorry i should have explained.

If the formatting toolbar isn't visible then
View|Toolbars|Formatting

select the cell where you entered the CF then look on the formatting toolbar
and you'll see something that looks like a paintbrush
Click it

Click into any other cells you want the formatting painting in to and you
can drag by holding the left mouse button for multiple cells. the references
will change automatically.

Go on! Be brave! Type "format painter" into Excel help. [You don't have
to pay extra to use the facility.]

The same applies for many other questions. It's always worth trying Excel
help first. When you've done that, you can always come back and ask here if
there is something you don't understand in what help tells you.
