Dividing multiple cells by 1000
 

I have a large spreadsheet and want to see the numbers in thousands. Is
there a way to highlight all the cells and divide them all by 1000 without
going into each cell?

Enter 1000 in any blank cell and copy select your range right click Paste
Special Divide OK out

Try formatting your cells like this:
