Help with if then function

I am trying to use an If function in a spreadsheet to check if a person is
married or single and their taxable income is within a certain range then
the tax is calculated. I have pasted the what the formula does but I do not
known how to get the formula to work. Can someone help me create the
following into an if function? Your help is greatly appreciated.

=IF (Cell D2 = Married) and Cell E35 $349,700, then (value in Cell E35
minus $349,700 x 35%) + $94601.00),

=IF (Cell D2 = Married) and Cell E35 $195,850 and < $349,700, then (value
in Cell E35 minus $195,850 x 33%) +$43,830.50),

Taxman-
I did not provide solutions for all of these since the formula logic
would be the same and only the values would change. Therefore, I
provided examples for the first two on your list and from these, you
should be able to adapt them to your remaining formulas. Just copy
and change the cell references.

For your first item:
=IF(AND(D2="Married",E35349700),(E35-349700*0.35)+94601,0)

For your second item:
=IF(AND(D2="Married",E35195850,E35<349700),
(E35-195850*0.33)+43830.5,0)

Best of luck.

Help with if then function

You should create 2 separate tables, one for Married, one for Single, then
you can use a single formula.

Tell me what result you expect when:

D2 = Married
E35 = 228221
