Everytime I use the multiply function (*) asterisk, it repeats itself. I
then have to delete all but one everytime. Very frustrating when working in
worksheets with multiple formulas. Help

Maybe you have an autocorrect entry for the asterisk.

In xl2003, you can check under:
tools|autocorrect options|autocorrect tab
