sorting with data on alternating [every other] row

When I attempt to sort data which cell contents are on every other or every
third row, etc. the sorting is in correct order, but all data is setup on
every row...not every 2nd or 3rd. How do I correct this...page setup,
spacing or??

Why to you want empty rows? If it's just for the aesthetics of the
spreadsheet, I would just change the row heights to give the appearance of
space without blank cells. Hightlight your rows, then play around with
Format...Row...Row Height. It's on 12.75 as a default, so just change to
25.5 to look like there is a row between.

Hope this helps,
Jane

Tks Jane: had thot of that looking at format, but new to Excel, I sorted then
added rows between each line of data....a real drag! Tks for the
tip...should I have "Jane" in the salutation of all future posts?
