Formulas showing as correct but not working
I use a very very basic formula to calculate a percentage of one column into
another. I've not changed anything but today when opening the document, the formula does not work. I've tried reentering it but still does not work. Has anyone any ideas on what might be the cause. |

It will show you where it is facing an issue. |
Formulas showing as correct but not working
Hi there, After a few attempt i'm still couldn't solve my formula editing:) :- When i'm using scientific calculator for the following equation:- Cos -1 (1810/(3.142*(914.4-16.76) = The answer that i get =50.07 And when i press shift 'degree' i get = 50.40 degree When i'm trying into excel by using the following equation:- '=Sin(1-)(1810/(3.142*(914.4-16.76)))' I couldn't get the answer as same as i'm using scientific calculator, can somebody help me corrected my equation on excel? I'm try to understand math equuation on 'help' but the result still the same.:( Please help me, because the equation is important to my studies -- lintugi ------------------------------------------------------------------------ lintugi's Profile: http://www.officehelp.in/member.php?userid=8286 View this thread: http://www.officehelp.in/showthread.php?t=1826059 http://www.officehelp.in |

It's always worth typing an appropriate function name (such as COS in your
case) into Excel, and, if necessary, following the See Also link. =DEGREES(ACOS(1810/(PI()*(914.4-16.76)))) gives 50.07 =DEGREES(ACOS(1810/(3.142*(914.4-16.76)))) gives 50.08 if your 3.142 isn't an approximation for PI(), and I'm struggling to understand what PI() would be doing in that part of a trigonometric expression. I don't know what the "degree" function giving you 50.40 on your calculator is doing; iif it were converting from decimal degrees to degrees and minutes, I would expect 50:04, not 50:40. =DEGREES(ACOS(1810/(PI()*(914.4-16.76))))/24 and format as [h]:mm:ss gives 50:04:15 I assume that you didn't intend to change from COS-1 to SIN-1 part way through your question? -- David Biddulph "lintugi" wrote in message ...
