Excel showing files as read only , when they aren't.....
HI I transferred my Excel 2003 files to A Vista machine. When I make any changes to any of the workbooks and go to save them as normal it's saying that they are read-only and would I like to save as a different name. I'm not sure why this is , when they aren't read only files. I've checked the properties for each of them and this proves this to be so. Is there a switch in the options panel I'm missing here? Why is it saying they are read only when they clearly aren't? Best Wishes |

Is the directory that they are stored in read only. If so then each file
within the directory will be read only by default... -- HTH... Jim Thomlinson "Colin Hayes" wrote: HI I transferred my Excel 2003 files to A Vista machine.
