Do you mean add a comment? Right-click on the cell and choose Insert
Comment.

When you say "formula", do you literally mean that?

You can add a comment to a *formula*, but it will only be visible in the
formula bar when you click in that cell.

=Sum(A1:A10)+N("Comment Here")
