Excel time calculation

Hello, would like some assistance with a time calculation. Need to calculate
the total hours spent for a time from where I have a day and time in Europe
as a start time, and a day and time in Asia as an end time, taking under
consideration that the end time is 7 hours ahead of the start time. Here are
my fields:
A1: Monday 9 (start day)
B2: 16:00 (start time in military time)
C1: Wednesday (end day in Asia)
D1: 9:00 (end time in military time, plus 7 hours ahead of the start time).

Goal: To calculate the total transit time in hours.

Does anyone know? Thank you.
Simon

How about entering the dates/times like this:

A1 = start = 7/7/2008 16:00
A2 = end = 7/9/2008 9:00

Then you can format those cells to display the weekday:

Format as dddd m/d/yyyy h:mm

They will display as:

A1 = Monday 7/7/2008 16:00
A2 = Wednesday 7/9/2008 9:00

Then it's just a simple subtraction formula:

=A2-A1-TIME(7,0,0)

Format this cell as [h]:mm

Result = 34:00
