Pivot Tables & Conditional Formatting

Can you use conditional formatting within pivot tables? I am trying to
identify balances that exceed certain dollar values or percentages for
variance analysis.

Sure, just try it any you will see that it CF for Pivot Table data behaves
exactly like CF for non-Pivot-Table-data.

Take a look at these links:

In Excel 2007, you can apply conditional formatting to sections of the
pivot table and it will move if you chang the pivot table layout.
In earlier versions of Excel, you will have to reapply the conditional
formatting if you change the layout. It won't automatically adjust.
