copying from pdf into excel ?
Excel 2003:
I have a program that collects date, I then have to take that data and move it into an excel spreadsheet. the problem is that this program won't let you copy from it and won't let you save as any other file. So I used cutepdf to save it as a pdf file. then I can copy one thing at a time and paste it into excel. But if I copy more than one item, it won't let me paste it into the row. Instead it pastes it all into the first cell. If I try "paste special" I don't get the usual paste special items, I get "paste as unicode text" and "paste as text". Is there any way to be able to make it paste correctly? Or am I doomed to going back and forth, back and forth, one item at a time? Thanks, Meenie |

Can you import the data from the program using DataImport External Data?
That may be the easiest method rather than employing the PDF middleman. You won't get the usual paste special dialog because you are using windows clipboard to copy and paste. No way around that. I think you need to use Shift+V
http://www.library.mcgill.ca/edrs/se...dftoexcel.html I think it depends on how the PDF doc. is set up though. In some instances, I have been able to use this, but in some instances, it didn't work for me. I guess it depends on the PDF file.
