in workbook1 i have written from A1 to A8 and I want this 8 cells to appear
as a drop-down list in a cell (e.g C3) in workbook2 and every time i change
something on the list in workbook one to be also changed on the drop-down
list on workbook2

In my (2000) version of Excel, you have to bring the values in
workbook1 A1:A8 into workbook2 somewhere, then, in C3: Data,
Validation, Allow, List, then select the cells in workbook2 (from
workbook1) as the List.

If you apply a name to the range in sheet1 you can refer to that name
for data validation in other sheets in the same workbook - Debra
