creating formulas for sequential numbers in excel

I am trying to find a formula (I know how to use some basic formulas in this
programme) that let me have sequential numbers on different worksheets in a
workbook. I have developed an invoice and need to have a new number come up
on each different worksheet (I dont have any formula here at the moment).
Any help in this problem would be greatly appreciated

How are you creating a different sheet for each new invoice?

Copying a sheet and re-doing it?

Or something else?

I spoke to a person at microsoft and he said that you are unable to put a
formula into a workbook so that everytime you open one you get a new number
but you are able to do this within the same workbook but on different
worksheets. So I typed up our invoice to suit us and then copied it onto all
the different worksheets. I have so far entered the numbers manually as I
cannot figure out how to do this or even if we're better off using a
different product. It has been 8 years since I stopped work and stopped
using this program every day so I'm strugglin to remember some things

Have a look at John McGimpsey's site for how-to code for creating sequential
numbering for invoices.

http://www.mcgimpsey.com/excel/udfs/sequentialnums.html

Create a Template workbook and open it to create a workbook for each new
invoice.

Use John's code to sequentially number them.
