how can you insert a version number in excel ?
 
If I insert =version all I get is ?NAME. How do I set the version number in
excel that can also change with modifictions in the sheet/workbook. Thanks
for your help

If you are talking about getting "version" number of a workbook, Excel has no
function for this AFAIK.

=INFO("release") will return the Excel Application version like 9.0 or 10.0 or
11.0
