Default formula for conditional formatting

can anyone tell me the formula I need to enter if I have a cell test which is
"flat" then turn a different cell yellow?

Default formula for conditional formatting

on conditional format change to "the formula is" and use a formula

=if(a110)
format as your needs

Default formula for conditional formatting

Apparently my typing skills are lacking a bit. it should have said text which
is "flat"
I actually have 6 different text choices for a column, and based on which
text is used, other various cells need to turn yellow indicating these need
filled in by the user. That is what I am trying to accomplish.
