In the menu, is Format Cells black or grey? Does CTRL-1, or selecting from the Format menu work? Is your sheet protected? |

Spiky,
Format Cells is not Grayed Out and now seems to be working. However, "Pick from a Drop Down List" is not grayed out and now that is not working. Now I recall that about 2 days ago "all Borders" was not working. Now that is working. Whew...what is going on? Do not believe my sheet is proteted. How can I tell? I c n make other changes and add data with no problem. Sure appreciate your working with me. But it doesn't sound like that's the issue. I can't think of a reason why some of your Excel commands would not be working from time to time. Maybe memory problems in the computer? Like too many programs running. Or maybe part of the Excel install is corrupted and needs to be re-installed. |

Thanks again. I installed from MS Office Std. purchsed at Best Buy in Feb of
2008. Kind of wondering if you may be right that I may need to re-install? What would I need to do to re-instll just EXCEL? I am certainly no computer genius...just a Grandma trying to learn the system. "Spiky" wrote: On May 21, 3:53 pm, candygal wrote: Spiky, Format Cells is not Grayed Out and now seems to be working. It would be better with an odd problem like this for someone to be working directly with you, rather than relying on some comments on Usenet. I think troubleshooting this kind of problem is beyond my expertise, anyway. Good luck. |
