Entering several pieces of info by typing just 1 defined name
I am trying to enter horse pedigrees to a sale catalog. I am wanting to be
able to type in M_1 and it will produce the 3 generation pedigree. I have the pedigrees all entered on one worksheet but the catalog is on a different worksheet. What can I do? |

Hi,
Without your data layout it's hard to be precise but I imagineyou must have a table like this somewhere which in my case is in columns A & B of sheet 2 Col A Col B M_1 A nice horse out of a donkey M_2 A donkey out of a nice horse M_3 Dam good sire iffy Say you enter the reference M_1 in A1 of sheet 1 you could have this formula in B1 =VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!A1:B3,2,FALSE) Mike "Clueless" wrote: I am trying to enter horse pedigrees to a sale catalog.
