Excel - compare function

I am trying to compare Date/time (in 1 cell) between 2 cells in "hr,mm" (can
span days)

JulieD

Hi

would you mind typing out a couple of samples (in your reply post, please do
not attach a workbook) of what you have and what you're looking for, because
i'm not sure if you just want to compare or find the differences between the
times or the days or both.

Cheers

Hi Julie,

I am trying to determine the difference with the result being in "hr:mm" It
was easy when it was a couple of hours, but when it spans days, that's when
we get stuck.
Samples:
Time Start Time End Result
Result in "hr:mm"
3/1/05 10:00 AM 3/2/05 2:00 PM 1/1/00 4:00 AM 4:00
2/14/05 11:35 AM 2/14/05 12:00 PM 1/0/00 12:25 AM 0:25
2/14/05 1:16 PM 2/17/05 10:00 AM 1/2/00 8:44 PM #NAME?

The top 2 easily use: =TEXT(B2-A2,"h:mm")
But when it spans days .... ??

Thanks ever so much!
