Why is it that when I link a cell to one from another worksheet,
 
The value isn't shown, the formula is??

Why is it that when I link a cell to one from another worksheet,
 
A little more info on this -I'm doing the usual '=' then clicking on the cell
I want the value of, which has worked previously in this spreadsheet. The
first time I've tried to link from a new worksheet (8th worksheet) it's
showing ='February 08'!E3 instead of the value.

One guess - that particular cell was earlier formatted as TEXT (unknown to
you of course). Just re-format as general or number, then either re-do the
link or re-activate the link formula by clicking inside the formula bar &
pressing ENTER. You need to re-trigger the formula, just re-formatting the
cell alone won't activate it.
