Import data from Word

I use an Excel file as source file to create WORD mail merged documents in a
table format where users need to complete some blanks. The mail merged WORD
file is then cut up to unique files and sent to different users to fill in
reqeusted data. The objective is to transfer the completed data from the
individual word files back to the source file where field columns are set up
to capture the data returned by the end users. Is there applications that can
return data from a custom design table (not column and field) layout in Word
to selected fields and cells in the Excel source date file?
