Inserting comments
I have a spread sheet with columns with formulas locked and allow all users
to use unlocked cells. I want them to put in a comment for the each insertion they make in the unlocked cells but they can't if any potion of the spreadsheet is locked. How can I allow comment insertions of cells that allow users. (Excel 2003) Thanks -- milt |

I believe you can do this:
check the box at "Edit Objects" and try to insert comments... What happens? I beleive I tried that already to no avail, but now I have another problem.
When I lock sevrl columns of formulas and I want the users to be able to add info into the unlocked cells they can't add anything, and I think I did this trying to figure out how to insert comments, but I don't know what I could have done. Thanks ryguy appreciate the effort if any other ideas come up let me know, in the meantime if I figure all this out, I'll let you know what happened. -- milt "ryguy7272" wrote: I believe you can do this: check the box at "Edit Objects" and try to insert comments... Ryan is correct.
When you go to ToolsProtectionProtect sheet, enable "Edit Objects" Your users will be able to insert comments in unlocked cells. I would suggest you start over by selecting all cells and set to locked. Then select those you want unlocked and set them to unlocked. Now protect the sheet and enable "Edit Objects" and whatever else you may want.
