table of value ranges
What function can I use to analyze the numerical data in a spreadsheet and
create a table of values? Such as x no of items within value range $0 to $600, x no. of items within value range $601 to $1,000, etc.? Thanks you -- $cruncher |

Use =COUNTIF()
Say we have values from A1 thru A1000. In B1 enter: =COUNTIF(A1:A1000,"<" & 601) In B2 enter: =COUNTIF(A1:A1000,"<" & 1001)-B1 In B3 enter: =COUNTIF(...)-B1-B2 , etc. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200770 "$cruncher" wrote: What function can I use to analyze the numerical data in a spreadsheet and create a table of values? One way:
Number values in the range A1:A100 How many are in the range 0 to 600 (inclusive): =COUNTIF(A1:A100,"=0")-COUNTIF(A1:A100,"600") Or, use cells to hold the boundaries: C1 = 0 D1 = 600 =COUNTIF(A1:A100,"="&C1)-COUNTIF(A1:A100,""&D1) -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "$cruncher" wrote in message ...
