Entry takes 1 min, Office 2007. Large sheet

Very large worksheet built in Excel 2003-7 now, in Excel 2007, there is a
long delay from entry to acceptance. I have saved versions in various
compatibility forms. The sheet is loaded with 8 years of data and it would
take an unreasonable amount of time to re-enter. Most of the data is text.
Other fairly large spreadsheets have instant response.

That's awfully long.

I'd visit Charles Williams' site anyway: everything you always wanted to know about Excel performance and more.

And I'd certainly try rebuilding the dependency tree with CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F9

Save your workbook before trying
