CTRL+select Excel 2007
I was trying to select two non-adjacent columns for a chart and I can select
one and when I try to select the second range, holding the CTRL key before selecting, the first selection turns off. I have used this feature for years and this is the first time I have come across this problem. Is there an option to turn the Ctrl+select feature off in Excel 2007? |

If you have pressed F8 to Extend Selection, the result will be what you're
describing. I have no problem with using Ctrl to make multiple selections in Excel 2007, SP1. Tyro .. "ripley" wrote in message ... I have never seen this before either. I use the Ctrl + select a lot
especially for pie charts i.e. A1:A8 for data labels and then F1:F8 for the corresponding numbers. I tried F8 it extends the select across all the rows and columns, not for non-adjoining cells This has happened on two machines (not my personal machine thankfully) that are used by many people. I was thiniking someone may have changed something in the options. I cannot repiclate it on my machine cannot see any place in the Options to change how Ctrl functions. We have many machines in the area and for two to do this is bizzare. "Tyro" wrote: If you have pressed F8 to Extend Selection, the result will be what you're describing. I meant that if you have made a selection, then press F8, then press Ctrl
and make another selection, you deselect the first selection. Sounded like your problem. I know of no way of changing how Ctrl works. I saw nothing in the options about it. I have never experienced a problem using Ctrl since I started using Excel 95. Tyro "ripley" wrote in message ... I have never seen this before either. I think I should be asking if there is a way to change the selection options
in Excel 2007 not the Ctrl function itself - Crtl+C, Ctrl+V still work. I have been using Ctrl since forever as well so it comes a quite a shock when it doesn't work, especially when it is 2 different machines.
