I am hoping someone can help me. I am working in a spreadsheet that has 2
freeze pains and numbers and some formulas. For some reason, Excel will not
allow me to insert a new column. When I try this is the message that I get:

'To prevent possible loss of data, Microsoft Excel cannot shift nonblank
cells off the worksheet. Try to locate the nonblank cells by pressing
CTRL &END, and delete or clear all in cells between the last cell and the end
of your data. Then select cell A1 and save your workbook to reset the last
cell used.'

Then it says; 'Or you can move the data to a new location and try again'.

Elisa I think you may find that there is data or formula(s) somewhere in the
most right hand column of your spreadsheet. As the number of columns are
finite, if Excel allowed you isert a column the most right column (IV in
2003) would disappear together with any information that it contained - thus
the message you received. Have you tried doing what the message tells you?
