Copy/Paste Special in Excel
 

I have 2 separate excel files running on two separate computer monitors. I
am trying to copy and €œpaste special€� a block of cells to move the value but
not the formatting from one document to the other. It will not allow me to
do this unless I want to paste an object into the target file. The only
other way I can paste the cells is a simple paste (by highlighting the cells
and pasting into the new location) in which the formatting is carried from
the origination document.

This is the behaviour when copying between workbooks in two instances of Excel.

I know of no way around it if you need two instances of Excel running.
