Excel how to be alerted when cells reach preset number?

We're setting up our payroll vacation accrual using Excel. How can I input
numbers each pay period and have excel add them up and alert me or signify
when the numbers have reached the preset number of 960?

You could use conditional formatting on the cell where you add up the
numbers, such that if Cell Value is Greater than or Equal to 960 then
change the background or foreground colour.

Hope this helps.
