2 versions of the same worksheet *.xls:1 & *.xls:2 - Why ?

I have a worksheet with 2 versions of the same worksheet, with *xls:2 with
formatting and updated info and *.xls:1 with info at some point in time in
the past. I don't how different versions of the same worksheet with the same
name get created.

Not two different versions, but tow windows of the same version.

Close one of them by hitting the "x" on the window or CTRL + w until you get
down to one window then save the workbook.

You got these two windows by going to WindowNew Window.
