Link between workbooks within Server 2003
Hi everyone.
We have alot of workbooks that are linked to one master workbook ...all in the same folder in the server. When copying that folder, (to start a new project), to another location in the server the links from the workbook stay with the original master workbook in the original folder. This requires us to edit every link for every workbook to point to the new projects master workbook. Very time consuming and not at all how excel worked when we used NT4.0 server software. Incidentally............it works if you do it on an individual station. Its only when the server is involved that we have this problem. MS says thats just how it is but I dont think they understood the problem. Over 5 years of building the Excel system is lost if I cant find the solution. It just slows us down too much as we spend more than 50% of the time re-establishing links rather than working on the new project. -- Jason |
