Excel 2000 Auto Save
I recently had to reload Office and now my Auto Save commandl has to be reset
each time I open the application. If I set it at Save all Workbooks and Do Not Prompt before saving, those changes are not saved when I close the application. |

You need to update Office to Service Release 1. There's more information here.
