I can't insert a worksheet into my current spreadsheet file
I current am working a spreadsheet that has 4 tabs at the bottom, the most
R/H tab being a summary report. When I try to insert another worksheet using the "insert" function, I find it blocked/inactive. The Excel help menu has NO usable information whatsoever on why the insert function is NOT active. I find the help menus on Excel getting worse and worse not able to supply simple information and not relating properly to the pull down menus. |

Most common reasaon for this is that the Workbook is protected.
In 2003 and earlier you would go to ToolsProtectionUnprotect workbook. ToolsOptions then choose the general tub and in the middle you have the option of increasing the number of worksheets you can have. Excel typicaly comes with 3 in the # of worsheets spot. That is only the default number of sheets in a new workbook and no bearing on how many sheets you can insert later or why your "insert sheet" was blocked. But glad to hear you can now insert a new sheet.
