How do I convert my old linked spreadsheets to MS2007?

I have a set of linked spreadsheets in .xls files. What is the easiest and
best way to upgrade to .xlsx?

How do I convert my old linked spreadsheets to MS2007?

Open all the files and then use File | Save As in turn on each one to
save it as an .xlsx file. Then save each file again, and the links
should have established themselves.
