V.A.T how to calculate it
Try this:
Cost = Price * (1 + VAT_Rate) Price = Cost / (1 + VAT_Rate) Price = 120 / (1 + 0.15) Price = 104.347826086957 VAT_Amount = Cost - Price VAT_Amount = 120 - 104.347826086957 VAT_Amount = 15.6521739130435 Does that help? -------------------------- Regards, Ron (XL2003, Win XP) Microsoft MVP (Excel) "pm_sam" wrote in message ... hi all am new to excel 2007 and have a problem i cant solve as yet. i've tried the help in excel and office online but cant find what am looking for. the problem is am trying to calculate V.A.T AT 15% OF A TOTAL. lets say there was £120 with V.A.T all ready included how would i calculate the V.A.T IN THE £120. any help would be greatly appreciated and i thank you inadvance for your response. paul. |

Hence, if you want it in one step, VAT_Amount =120*15%/(1+15%)
Change the 15% to the VAT rate applicable in your case. -- David Biddulph "Ron Coderre" wrote in message ...
