Vlookup or another function? Help!
 

If i create a list in a cell and choose one value, is it possible to link
that value to another list in another column?

As i choose the value it would appear a list in another column with values
that relate only to that value that i chose. I can't do this with Vlookup
because it only returns 1 value...

Say in Worksheet 2, create a list of things, eg, in A1 down, have Oils, Fats,
Margarines and so on. Name this list Ingredients.

Now in Col C create a list of vairous oils, eg Sunflower Oil, Olive Oil,
This oil, That oil, and name it Oils.

In Col E create a list called Fats, eg Pork fat, sheep fat, cattle fat,
chicken fat. and so on.

In Worksheet 1, create a lookup list with Data, Validation, List, and select
Ingredients. Do this in say Col B6.

In B7, create another Data Validation box, and as list name, select the
contents of B6.

If you now select Fats in B6, you will have a choice of the various fats in
your list of Fats, but if you select Oils in B6, you will have a list of oils
in B7.
