Excel 2003: Analysys tool pack will not stick
I installed the latest Office 2003 updates around 25 July 2007.
I now see that, e.g., XIRR is no longer available. If I fiddle around and use the Add-Ins menu, I sometimes, but not always, get the XIRR, and other functions back, but ONLY while the workbook is open. Even tho the Add-Ins remain checked, when I next open a workbook, the XIRR is gone. Either due to a bug in the update I downloaded, or somebody snuck in a not so cool virus. Any other reports of this problem? How to fix? -- http://www.standards.com/; See Howard Kaikow's web site. |

I see part of the problem.
Sometimes, I do get access to the XIRR function, but, in those cases, I see two functions XIrr XIRR Ditto for someof the other functions. So there must be conflicting Add-In libraries installed. Where are these libraries listed in the registry. Perhaps, I can get rid of one. Is there an issue loading BOTH the Analysis Toolpack and the Analysis Toolpack - VBA? |

XIRR seems to be working now, which leads me to pointing in another
direction. At the time I found the XIRR not to be working consistentlly, I was doing a Kaspersky AV 7 scan of my system. At that time, the scan happed to be scanning the drive on which Office 2003 and Windows 2000 are installed. |

I have had the same problem with the Add-In functions in Excel 2003, but have
not figured out why. For now, I have to avoid those functions. -- Christopher "Howard Kaikow" wrote: I see part of the problem.
