delete macros

An Auto_Close macro was set up by someone else and we don't want it in the
file anylonger, weare getting some strange messages when closing out of the
file. I followed the instructions for deleting but the delete button won't
highlight, it stays gray. I don't know if it was created in a previous
version of excel and now I can't delete it or what. I also read this message
board and followed the steps located at this URL.

However, this stubborn little macro is still there, can anyone help me?
Thanks!

delete macros

Open up the VBE (hit alt-f11)
show the project explorer (hit ctrl-r)
select your workbook/project

Look in the general modules for a procedure called Auto_Close.

Delete it from there.

I'm guessing that you may need to supply a password to get to that project,
though.

Or you may need to make sure that the workbook is not shared
