how do I reference a spreadsheet in a cell
I want to have one spreadsheet update a specific cell in another spreadsheet.
How do I do this? Example: Spreadsheet 1 cell G5 contains a balance Spreadsheet 2 cell B5 wants that same balance NOTE: The spreadsheets are not in the same workbook. Lee Wrede |
The easiest way is to get Excel to do it.
Open both workbooks. In s/s 2, cell B5, hit the = key. Navigate to s/s1, cell G5. Hit Enter. Excel will create the formula something to the effect ='[file name.xls]Sheetname'!G5 -- Regards, Fred Please reply to newsgroup, not e-mail "Lee_Wrede" wrote in message ...
