pivot table
I have data organised in columns like
salesperson, department, january sales, february sales, march sales etc I'd like to get the pivot table to be organised in the same way. But when I drop the sales figures into the data area the always go on top of each other, ie january sales february sales march sales etc How do I get data organised the way I want it without doing something with my base data? |

Click on the little grey Data tab... and drag it to the top part of the pivot
table where it says total. well, the problem with that is that you get an error message saying "will
only display the first 255 observations" or something like that. and i don't want to display the sales figures as headers, i want january as header. although i found a "format pivot" icon that did the trick. although the person who designed the default formats wasn't really a designer. the layout looks terrible. now the problem is to define own formats instead of the preset ones...
