I am creating a cost matrix that identifies a cost estimate of doing a
certain task within certain perimeters. In the future, when our base costs change, I want to update the existing cost matrix. I am pulling cost information from a different worksheet in the same workbook. In my cost matrix cells I want to place formulas in cells B3, B4, B5, etc. that state the following: When the value in cell A3, A4, A5, etc. is (EXACTLY) a (certain number, say 100) place the value found in 'ARCH Input'!A5, otherwise do nothing (leave the number as is). Or another sample would be: When the value in cell A3, A4, A5, etc. is (EXACTLY) a (certain number, say 200) place the value found in 'ARCH Input'!A5, otherwise do nothing (leave the number as is). I dont know how to write the formula to have the value in cells B3, B4, B5 do nothing unless their counterpart number changes. Otherwise they continually change to pick up the current number in ARCH Input!A5. |

One way:
Choose Tools/Options/Calculation and check the Iterations checkbox. Then enter: B3: =IF(A3=100,'ARCH Input'!A5,B3) In article , Sally Sue wrote: I am creating a cost matrix that identifies a cost estimate of doing a certain task within certain perimeters.
