swapping formulas with the value they generate

Is there a way to swap the formula in a particular cell with the value that
is generated so the formula doesnt show but the value does.

Copy then Paste Special Values ... but you can't get the formula back

CLR

Typically in Excel, the values do show and the formulas do not......except
that the formula shows in the Formula Bar when you highlight a cell that
contains a formula. If your formulas are showing in the cells, something is
wrong.........probably the cell is formatted as TEXT, or does not contain a
leading equal sign, which tells Excel that the entry is indeed a
formula.........
